Embassy Theatre, downtown Fort Wayne

The Embassy is one of the most-booked wedding venues in Allen County and has an elegant historic ballroom upstairs that holds receptions of 150–250 guests. The cake table is typically set up against the back wall of the ballroom, away from windows. The ballroom can run warm in summer (older HVAC), so we recommend pickup as late as possible on the wedding day — ideally a 2:00 PM pickup for a 6:00 PM ceremony — to minimize time in transit.

Loading is through the side stage entrance. Coordinate with the Embassy's catering team in advance — they typically lock the stage door between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM during venue prep, and your cake driver will need them to open it. Plan an extra 10 minutes for this coordination.

Fort Wayne Botanical Conservatory (Foellinger-Freimann)

The Botanical Conservatory is a stunning glass-house venue that we have baked for repeatedly. Three things about cake logistics here: (1) the Showcase Garden room runs significantly warmer than indoor venues — buttercream cakes need to stay refrigerated until 30–45 minutes before cutting, not 1–2 hours like a standard reception; (2) loading is through the catering entrance off Calhoun Street, and the path to the cake table is long — bring a cart; (3) sugar-flower work is the safer choice over fresh florals here because the conservatory humidity can wilt cut flowers quickly.

Allen County War Memorial Coliseum

For larger weddings (200+ guests), the Coliseum's Conference Center hosts receptions in the Hall of Champions or the Grand Ballroom. Cake tables are usually set centrally in either room. Loading is straightforward via the catering loading dock on Parnell Avenue. The HVAC is reliable; cakes can sit on the table from 4:00 PM through cutting at 8:00–9:00 PM without issue. The catering team is experienced with wedding-cake handoff and will receive the cake on your behalf if your designated person hands them the setup notes.

The barn does not have central air — cake must be transported in a cool vehicle and refrigerated immediately upon arrival in the venue's catering kitchen until cutting. Smaller venues + private homes
